Recharge Maine, a statewide initiative to expand the availability of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure on Maine’s highways and within communities, will be awarding more than $6 million in National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program funds.
Grants will support the development of new chargers at seven sites spanning Bangor to Augusta, and a stretch of U.S. Route 1 between Ellsworth and Freeport.
Recharge Maine, through a separate competitive solicitation, awarded Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan funding for five bidders that will extend the charging network along the most traveled routes to the Crown of Maine and to the Eastern border with New Brunswick.
