Senate Commerce Chairman John Thune (R-S.D.) seemingly has all but given up on his push to expand how pilots can be certificated to fly commercial planes — the key issue that’s held up Senate floor action (that is, when it comes to the meat of the bill itself; obviously, other priorities have hogged time on the floor in the last few months, most recently last week’s failed attempt to legislate on immigration policy).
