Truck tonnage in April increased on an annual basis but declined compared with March, American Trucking Associations reported.
The seasonally adjusted ATA For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index rose 1.8% to 115.8 compared with April 2021, but dipped 2% from its 118.2 result from March, ATA said. The index equaled 100 in 2015.
The sequential decline was the first one in several months, noted ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello.
