The Utah Department of Transportation has started work on a project to construct a new highway.
The West Davis Highway will be a four-lane divided highway stretching for 16 miles to improve access to western Davis County, which lies immediately north of Salt Lake City.
Davis County is bordered by the Great Salt Lake to the west and the Wasatch Mountains to the east. Its main corridor is Interstate 15, which runs north-south.
