Trump called Boeing chief to ask about 737 MAX

THE PRESIDENT’S ON LINE ONE: Trump called Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg on Sunday, The New York Times reported Wednesday evening. The commander in chief wanted to talk to the Boeing chief about the grounded 737 MAX, having heard that the manufacturing giant was planning to stop the plane’s production for good. Muilenburg said a halt would only be temporary, according to the Times, which spoke to multiple people with knowledge of the call. Trump also “expressed concern about the health of the company more broadly, and asked whether Mr. Muilenburg was doing O.K.”
