FAA defies relentless calls to ground 737 MAX

FAA STANDS ALONE: FAA continued to stand firm in its decision not to ground Boeing 737 MAX planes in the U.S., even as a barrage of lawmakers, former officials, unions and others urged the agency to follow in the footsteps of the growing list of countries that have grounded the planes. More than a dozen nations, as well as the European Union, have grounded or banned the model. But FAA said Tuesday that its review of the incident so far “shows no systemic performance issues and provides no basis to order grounding the aircraft.”
