Bloomberg goes big on infrastructure

A week after putting out a clean transportation plan that would boost electric vehicles, the former New York mayor and presidential candidate is releasing an infrastructure plan. As our Tanya Snyder analyzes, it’s an ambitious $1.2 trillion, 10-year blueprint for “critical capital investments,” but it lacks a proposal to pay for it. The plan would triple annual federal investments in public transit and bike and pedestrian infrastructure, and it calls for completing a high-speed rail corridor by 2025 and two more by 2030. The pay-fors will come when Bloomberg announces a tax plan in a few weeks, according to the campaign.
