US Senate Confirms Senior Transportation Nominee, Others Await Consideration

A nominee for a senior policy post at the U.S. Department of Transportation was recently confirmed by the U.S. Senate while other DOT nominees await votes before the full chamber or in committee.

The Senate easily confirmed Carlos Monje as under secretary of transportation for policy, the third most senior management role at the department. He received unanimous approval.

Monje is tasked with overseeing regulatory updates and participates in strategic planning operations within the Office of the Secretary. Monje assisted with transportation policy affairs during the Biden-Harris transition.
