Trump twists the knife on California rail setback

BULLET TRAIN ESCALATION: DOT made the first move toward taking back the federal funding given to California for its high-speed rail project, canceling $929 million that had yet to go out and saying it will try to get back $2.5 billion in additional grants that were already sent. Your host has more on the attempt to retrieve the funds, which came after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced last week that the state would significantly scale back the project. Trump also took another shot at Newsom Tuesday on Twitter: “The failed Fast Train project in California, where the cost overruns are becoming world record setting, is hundreds of times more expensive than the desperately needed Wall!”
