The airline dispute with China isn’t over

The tension between the U.S. and China over airlines let up somewhat late last week, but there are still hurdles for the governments and carriers. DOT issued a new order on Friday allowing two weekly round-trip flights for Chinese airlines, after the Chinese government eased its own restrictions on foreign flights in the mainland.

But in its latest order, DOT said China “continues to preclude U.S. carriers from fully exercising their rights” under a bilateral air transportation agreement, as our Brianna Gurciullo reports.
