Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Expected to Be Busiest Since 2007

This Thanksgiving will be the busiest for nationwide travel since 2007, with 48.7 million Americans expected to travel at least 50 miles this year, according to auto club AAA.

The Thanksgiving holiday travel period starts Nov. 23. About 43.5 million people, or 89% of all travelers, are expected to travel by car, according to AAA.

The number of travelers is expected to increase by 1 million people compared with last year, AAA said Nov. 15.
