Senate to kick off aviation safety review this week

THIS WEEK ON THE HILL: Congress returns from a one-week break with Boeing on its mind. The Senate Commerce’s aviation subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday looking at federal oversight of aviation safety in the wake of two recent plane crashes overseas which have killed more than 300 people. (Another hearing featuring Boeing is TBD.) Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao will also be on Capitol Hill to defend President Trump’s budget request for her agency, at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing. And though she’s there to talk about the budget, expect some 737 questions.
