No airline bailout on the radar

President Donald Trump, while meeting with airline CEOs at the White House on Wednesday, said the industry had not brought up the issue of government financial assistance. “I don’t want you to give them any ideas. We haven’t discussed that yet,” he said, which we know thanks to the trusty C-SPAN cameras in the room.

But beyond that, the business and travel communities say there won’t be any need for wide-scale assistance. “We don’t need any bailouts here,” Tom Donohue, the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said in response to MT’s question at a press conference.
