Diesel Falls 9.5¢ to $4.444 a Gallon

The national average price for a gallon of diesel sank by 9.5 cents, reaching $4.444 a gallon, according to data for the week ending Feb. 13 provided by the Energy Information Administration.

Highlights

  • The price of diesel fell in all 10 regions surveyed by EIA, from a high of 12.1 cents in the Lower Atlantic to a low of 3.7 cents in California.
  • The diesel drop comes on the heels of a healthy 8.3-cent drop a week ago. The price of diesel has fallen in 11 of the last 14 weeks.
  • Trucking’s main fuel is now just 42.5 cents more expensive than a year ago.
