Bestpass Inc. has saved trucking companies more than $60 million in tolls through its universal transponder that covers bridges and roads in most of the United States, the company announced Nov. 1. The Albany, New York-based company pools together all the owner-operators and commercial fleets into one mega-account.
Bestpass automatically pays the toll operator, then sends a monthly bill to the client with an added fee. In exchange, it receives huge discounts from the toll operators and passes those deals on to the trucking companies.
