It’s hard to get a full picture of the massive toll the epidemic has taken on transportation workers across sectors, but we tried to come close in a team story published Tuesday.
The numbers are perhaps starkest among transit agencies, which have seen thousands of workers infected and dozens die. On Tuesday, 21 Democratic senators wrote to acting FTA Administrator Jane Williams asking her to update the agency’s guidance to reflect the CDC’s recommendation that people wear face coverings in public.
