Highway, transit and rail watchers, strap in for a long Wednesday. The House Transportation Committee is marking up its surface transportation bill and will consider hundreds of amendments that have been introduced so far this week. As of our deadline, there were 117 with likely many more to come ahead of the deadline today.
The nature of the amendments gives a little preview of what the markup will be like, and further into the future, how conference negotiations with the Republican Senate will go down.
