Gribbin: We’ll pay for infrastructure with budget cuts

#IIIH — INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT IS HARD: The administration is still expecting to pay for $200 billion in federal spending on U.S. infrastructure by making cuts elsewhere in its budget, Trump infrastructure adviser DJ Gribbin said at a Roll Call event Wednesday. “When you talk about the grand ideas, whether it’s tax reform or health care or infrastructure, that’s all easy,” Gribbin said. But finding pay-fors is more difficult, he said. Gribbin added that the Trump administration is the first presidential administration since the 1990s “that has not immediately just opposed a gas tax” hike.
