Ford worried about Trump impact on trade

Trump’s trade approach, including his disputes with China and strained relations with once-reliable trading partners like Canada and Mexico, is threatening to undercut the global competitiveness of major North American automakers like Ford, Pro Trade’s Doug Palmer reports. Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s executive vice president and president of global operations, said the unstable trade environment being created by the Trump administration could be bad for business.“Planning in an environment where there’s a lot of turmoil and change is difficult especially for our kind of business,” he said. “We would much rather have certainty and predictability so that we can allocate our capital and plan our business appropriately.”
